Title Search Cost
Dan Said:
Cost of a title search? We Answered:
Depends on the title company. There is generally not a set price for it per se, as the search is just a county records search. Typically you will see a cost from $75- $150 for it though.Edwin Said:
what is the cost of a title search? We Answered:

Accounting: Title Search Fee part of Cost of Land?We Answered:
Yes, it will be capitalized. Search fee is paid to establish that the land legally belongs to the seller which will form the basis of the sale deed. Remember that you can not sell anything which does not belong to you. Since you have purchased the land from its previous owner, the search fee is part of the cost of land.Caroline Said:
what is the cost for a title search of a house? We Answered:
There is no "standard cost" so it will vary among title agencies. You'll be charged for the title search and the title insurance policy. The title insurance itself will depend on the sale price/value of the property. It's best to call around and find out. Some agencies charge a flat fee for the search, others figure in mileage and the cost for copying documents. I used to do title searches and just included the mileage in with my base rate and then added on however much it cost me to make copies of the necessary docs at the courthouse. Obviously, my base rate varied by distance too. If I had to travel 80 miles round trip to get a search, then my rate for going to that county was higher than my rate for searches in my home county. There are Title and Escrow Agencies and many attorney's also do title searches/work.Geraldine Said:
does anyone know what it cost to have a title search done on a property deed?We Answered:
It depends from state to state depending on whether the state requires an attorney to do the paperwork. If so about $200. If the state is one that uses a escrow/title company then it could be more or less.....It varies depending how far back the title has to be researched.
