Interesting question...I have no idea to be honest with you because I never looked into it. Maybe your homeowners policy, if they have not dropped you because you own a dog that is trained to bite, but, it is something I will be interested to learn about here if anyone knows.
If they are looked upon as property, I doubt the homeowners policy will pay you 15K for a dog.

ADD: Realistically speaking...I know of no insurance company that will insure a dog that is worth 20K to YOU.
When I went to Iraq as a private contractor, no insurance here would touch me...life or health, they would be crazy to.
Same thing with a dog, getting hurt, killed, whatever!!!
