Title Insurance Quotes

Marion Said:

insurance question with two names on the title?

We Answered:

Yes, with mom's name on the title there is a chance, however small, that there could be an accident that goes over the limits of your insurance, and she gets sued. There is also a chance a meteor may hit tomorrow, and land on your car as it travels.

As long as you have insurance coverage, mom really doesn't have much to worry about.

Gina Said:

Title Closing/escrow fee ?

We Answered:

Seems high; I'd ask for an itemized breakdown of what those charges cover.

(How can anyone know if you got a bargain on title insurance without knowing the purchase price or state????)

Edith Said:

Where do car insurance companies find accident/driving violations?

We Answered:

It's called a driving abstract you can just go to the DMV and request one they are pretty cheap, maybe $6 to $10 for one or you might be able to get it on your states website. Or I bet if you ask the insurance company that you are interested in to look that info up for you, I'm sure your not the first person that can't remember accidents, dates, tickets etc..

Rick Said:

Insurance Quotes?

We Answered:

Your parents are prob. right. The factors against you:
new driver
no driving history
age (ie: very young)

will ramp up that insurance to the point where it will actually cost more then the value of the car after about two years.

PLUS.. your parents will STILL have to have some kind of coverage on you since until you are an adult or emancipated, they are legally responsible for your actions.

Stick with their insurance and save the money for a GREAT car in about 5 years.
