Nobody can answer that without knowing what state you live in, what county in that state and how they calculate their taxes. It depends on the assessed value of the car.
You can go to your county courthouse or the DMV and they'll tell you EXACTLY how much it will cost.

You'll have to pay a $25 fee to get the suspension lifted from your license. Then it will cost you $15 to get a new copy of your driver's license. You shouldn't have any problems registering the new vehicle. You can always call before you go.

You'll probably have to show your receipts for parts, the bill of sale, and the title. You may have to get an inspection, but verify on the website for NY DMV. It will remain a salvage title in NY, once a salvage, always a salvage. Inspections for bikes and vehicles are pretty much the same, verifying VIN and parts numbers, checking for stolen status. Insurance may be problematic, I don't know if it is required in NY, but the salvage title,plus being a bike, might cause you some headaches. Lots of insurance companies don't cover bikes, at all, plus the salvage title, I wouldn't be surprised if you have to get an estimate of it's value from a motorcycle dealer, or some other source,before you'll secure insurance. I'm guessing phone calls to get info is your only way to go in regards to that. Good luck.

That is all you need but the Va inspection is useless. You will get a 10 day temporary inspection sticker but then will need to get a valid NYS inspection. Actually they will want to see some ID. like your driver's license.

When you closed on the property there was a document created called a HUD 1. This document spelled out all of the monies paid out and who paid it (seller or buyer). The form is filled out by the Escrow Company which is also many times ALSO the Title company. Either way it should show the name of the Title Company.

You shouldn't have any problem selling it with a NY title. The person who is buying your car should just be able to take the NY title to the DMV to transfer ownership. It might just take a little longer for the paperwork to be done. You may want to check with the DMV in Illinois just to be sure, as motor vehicle laws do vary from state to state.

i am not sure how that will work out with her NOT having adriver license. but my mom bought me a car back in 2002 and she was on the registration and insurance but NOT as the primary driver of the car.
