You need to sign the back of the original title. You are basically selling your car to the Insurance Company.

First I would talk to the escrow officer that did the escrow, then I woulld talk to the Title Insurance Customer Service rep.

I would also insist the the escrow and title do all the paper work and also to pay for all the recording cost since it was their mistakes. Recording fees have gotten really high, thar least around these parts.

They should be able to get your problem resolved.
