Regarding your first question, there are other career/life coaches that offer cheaper rates, dependent on their clientèle and their altruism! Cheaper doesn't necessarily mean lousy, likewise, expensive doesn't mean they are the best for you. You need to find a coach that you can relate to, and yet can be that supporter and tough master to help you help yourself.

A life coach will spur you on in the life path uniquely yours.

From what you write, I can see that you have a rough idea of what you want to do which is fantastic! A life coach will help you sculpture out the fine details of your ideal life, and motivate you to achieve the goals in your life to reach that dream.

You have some doubts regarding yourself which you may or may not be aware of. A life coach can help you become aware of your "kinks". If you are aware, a life coach can guide you to the fastest and most effective method to iron out these doubts.

your opening paragraph leaves the reader questioning about why did you add all the extra stuff about what diseases do they treat and prevent, what are the day to day difficulties. if you want to leave it how it is, i would take out the whole first paragragraph, and redo it on where Dr. Martinez works, moreon her, and why she became a pedi DR. other wise youre kinda left wondering where the other information you talked about in the beginning is. But, if you say add a paragraph on each of those topics, it would show more on her job, what she deals with, and she helps prevent them, and it would make your paper significantly longer. the rest was excellent, but the first paragraph definitely clashes with the rest of your paper, and leaves you hanging in the end. then you could call the paper, A Day in the Life of DR. Martinez

Making a career change is never easy, even at "lower" levels of an organization. In this particular case, you're in good luck because the requirements for an Admin position are usually fairly low (not that it's an easy job).

Believe it or not, cover letters are going out of style, since the internet has caused companies to be deluged with resumes. Sometimes hundreds or thousands for a single position. Since this position will likely get many resumes due to the low requirements, you could probably skip the cover letter altogether.

However, if the company is asking for it specifically, I would just be honest about your reasons for change, which sound perfectly legitimate to me. Try something like this:

"I'm applying for the Administrative Assistant position at XYZ company, because I would like to move to ABC industries for the following reasons - [name your reasons].

"While in my position of Account Executive, I was able to develop several skills which will make me a viable candidate: [name your skills]"

Now your Acct Exec job is an asset, not a burden. It's helped you prepare to be an Admin. Of course you will have to elaborate on this with your own words.

I would like to caution you that no one ever moves up "in a couple of months". If you take this position, be prepared to serve in the role for at least 18-24 months before they consider promoting you. Also, Admins can get easily pigeon-holed, so be careful that you don't turn this into a career if you don't want that.
