Title Transfer - This is a fee for the actual title work and will run about $33.00 dollars.

Sales Tax - Based on where you purchased the vehicle it can be anywhere from 6 1/4 to 7 1/4% of the total sales price.

Plates - If the vehicle will require new plates, or replacements, you will have to purchase them. I think that runs about $20.00 dollars.

The best way to calculate this is to go the Texas DMV website and get the title transfer form and it has a break down of the state/county fees.

You can't have your cake & eat it too.
You can either keep the vehicle & the insurance company will provide a Salvage title or you can take the cash & the insurance company keeps the car.
