No. All payoffs and lien satisfactions have to be ordered individually from the source with a specific payoff date.

A lien or judgment could have originally been for $5,000.00 (the recorded amount) but with post-judgment interest added (which will be necessary to satisfy the lien) it could easily be $7,500.00. A mortgage could be recorded for $100,000.00, but the seller may only owe $45,000.00. There is also the possibility of unrecorded private mortgages.

I wouldn't buy it until he can give you the title. How do you know it wasn't stolen, he isn't the real owner of the vehicle or that it doesn't have a salvage title. It is his responsibility to get a title. Tell him that you want to buy it as soon as he receives the title. Don't buy it until then.

There is no where that I know of that you can search online for a lienholder.

Years ago when I bought my YZ490 brand new from the dealer it didn't come with a "Title" due to the fact it wasn't street legal. It did however come with a MSO paper and it acts as proof of ownership. Depends on what you have, there my not be a title available.
