If you got a good deal on the house, it would be worth it to have the insurance. You never know how good a job was done on checking out a title, even if you did it yourself. Insurance is one of those things you hate to pay for when you don't need it but wish you had if you something happens and you didn't get it..

All you can do is try it. You also have to sign a paper when you buy your tags that you have insurance on the vehicle.
