Contact the client direct ..marketing department. Ask who is handling advertising and who is the correct agency for the college market. Contact both, cc both of them. The most difficult part sometimes is finding the right person. When you reach the agency ask for the account executive and introduce yourself. Then ask for the media buyer. cc both. Remember, most agencies won't recommend an advertising venue unless they get a commission.

When I used to sell advertising, especially newer products, I always got the client very interested in the media. Often, the client had to ask the agency several times to place the media buy with us.

And to answer your question, yeah, this is going to get much worse. There's a lot of stuff going on behind the scenes that we common-folk don't know about, and won't know about, until it splashes across the front page.

Real estate attorneys buy their title insurance through nationwide companies such as Stewart Title or First American Title. Those are the 2 big ones. As long as your local office writes it through one of these companies (which most do) you are fine to go with a small local office.
