How Much Is Title Insurance In Texas

Cassandra Said:

If I refuse an insurance settlement, will there be any automatic reporting to the state about an accident?

We Answered:

Don't ignore the guys insurance company. They won't go away. They can't.

If you don't want to settle with them - call the adjuster. Tell them that you do not wish to pursue a claim for the damage to your vehicle. They may want to get something in writing to confirm this. Then they will go away.

Or

here's an option that works in some states -- not all.

If the car is a total loss - it is usually a total loss if the estimate equals or exceeds 75% of the car's value.

If the insurance company has an estimate for 65% of the cars value and settles with you as an "agreed price" then no salvage title is put on the car because the estimate is less than 75%. But you don't get any more money. The "agreed price" is all you get. Keep in mind -not every state can do this.

You can talk to the adjuster. Tell him/her your concerns and see what options they can come up with. If they can work out a way for you to keep the car - they will do it. But they can only do what state regulation lets them do.

But you won't get anything resolved by not talking to them and they won't go away. They can't.
