Henry Said:

Winner UD Green Card?

We Answered:

100% scam.

While there is a DV lottery, that email did NOT come from the US government.

The US government uses "dot gov" email addresses NOT "dot usa".

The US government notifies winners via US mail by sending paperwork to their home address NOT via email.

The US government accepts payment in person at very specific locations NOT cash sent anonymously to someone in another country.

The next email is from another of the scammer's fake names and free email addresses and contains a list of made-up fees to be paid in cash, and only by Western Union or moneygram.

Western Union and moneygram do not verify anything on the form the sender fills out, not the name, not the street address, not the country, not even the gender of the receiver, it all means absolutely nothing. The clerk will not bother to check ID and will simply hand off your cash to whomever walks in the door with the MTCN# and question/answer. Neither company will tell the sender who picked up the cash, at what store location or even in what country your money walked out the door. Neither company has any kind of refund policy, money sent is money gone forever.

Now that you have responded to a scammer, you are on his 'potential sucker' list, he will try again to separate you from your cash. He will send you more emails from his other free email addresses using another of his fake names with all kinds of stories of great jobs, lottery winnings, millions in the bank and desperate, lonely, sexy singles. He will sell your email address to all his scamming buddies who will also send you dozens of fake emails all with the exact same goal, you sending them your cash via Western Union or moneygram.

Do you know how to check the header of a received email? If not, you could google for information. Being able to read the header to determine the geographic location an email originated from will help you weed out the most obvious scams and scammers. Then delete and block that scammer. Don't bother to tell him that you know he is a scammer, it isn't worth your effort. He has one job in life, convincing victims to send him their hard-earned cash.

Whenever suspicious or just plain curious, google everything, website addresses, names used, companies mentioned, phone numbers given, all email addresses, even sentences from the emails as you might be unpleasantly surprised at what you find already posted online. You can also post/ask here and every scam-warner-anti-fraud-busting site you can find before taking a chance and losing money to a scammer.

bussiness in title?

We Answered:

Its truly difficult to point you in the right direction, there are always online sources where you can type in keywords that will direct you to a book you would like to buy, such as amazon or ebay...but if you would prefer a higher position, why not consider your own at home business? You would be your own boss, set your own goals, work as little or as much as you want..sounds pretty nice to me! The company I enrolled with offers free training, free benefits, and free online advertising through personalized websites. This company is in great standing with the Better Business Bureau out of Dallas Texas, has been featured on the show 60 Minutes, and is a CAREER..not one of those scams or partial online "jobs". If you want more details, simply click my avatar image, this will take you to my YA profile, it is there that you will see a link that I have provided to the YA community. Click this link, it should take you to the company's website...review as much or as little information as your heart desires and then request an interview! Its that easy! FYI, the interview can be conducted via phone or internet. Best of luck to you!

Lillie Said:

What "title" would you give my job?

We Answered:

Marketing Assistant.

I worked as a marketing manager for an insurance company for 5 years and those under me did largely what you do (albeit with varying tasks and degrees) and they were marketing assistants.

I don't necessarily agree with you being labeled and admin assistant since you are doing market analysis work primarily.

I would shy away from putting director on your resume since that would almost assuredly result in job inquiries you are not likely qualified for (director titles are usually reserved for large corps where the director has teams of individuals underneath them).

Anyone ever heard of Sarinaslegacy.com supposed home buyer??

We Answered:

RUN LIKE HELL FAST< NO FASTER> 30 YEARS AROUND REAL ESTATE> Jerry, good luck. ADDITIONAL INFO. Checked with others and seems like variation of scam, goes like this. They buy with no money down, they don't want to invest money in a place thy have no intention of owning. Seller finance, bull they want to pay YOU monthly and then you pay mortgage, they want to hide this from your mortgage lender. They don't need a appraisal or survey or title insurance, and they are real estate people!!! Its because they have no intention of ever owning property or making any payments to you. They will rent out to some one for 2 3 4 thousand dollars a month and collect rent, make no payments to you. Remember they now control this property and you will have to foreclose on them, 1 year, 18 months while they collect rent, remember they now control this property!!!! If you have any questions contact me via yahoo answers. Jerry

question about health insurance?

We Answered:

I would say no. Don't even mention it.

I saw "Sicko" too. It was good, except there was a little exaggeration going on.

You should have no trouble getting health insurance. They only keep records for 7 years. Tourettes Syndrome? What Tourettes Syndrome? ;)

Anita Said:

is this a good title/topic for my marketing dissertation?

We Answered:

I think it would be fine if you take a case study approach and use your company as the case. Case studies work nicely for a disseration because they let you explore all the issues thoroughly.
However, this will only work if you can get access back into the firm to do some interviews and/or questionnaires. The experience you have gained will help you to write your background chapter because you can do the company overview etc. Also it will help you when it comes to the literature search for your literature review chapter. Strike whilst the iron is hot if necessary, and contact the insurance company & check now if it's ok for you to go back to them. What you might say is that you will provide them with an executive summary of your dissertation so that they can look at your recommendations. This often helps when securing access from firms.
If you are not familiar with the case study approach, get a copy of Yin. You will need to read him for your methodology chapter anyway.
