Arizona Title Insurance
Alma Said:
Live in Arizona, this question is in regards to vehicle regulations.?We Answered:
) What documents do I need to transfer a title and registration?Completed, signed title application (see # 6)
Signed and notarized vehicle title
Lien release, if applicable
All applicable title and registration fees (see #2).
Any other documents that apply (power of attorney - original or certified copy, personal representative papers)
If there is a lien on the vehicle that has not been paid off, written permission from the lienholder/lender will be required to add or delete a name.
2) How much does it cost to title and register my vehicle?
It varies depending on the vehicle. There is a $4.00 title fee; an $8.00 registration fee; plus an air quality research fee of $1.50; and a vehicle license tax (VLT) assessed in place of a personal property tax charged by other states. There may also be a weight fee for commercial vehicles and other fees. The VLT is based on an assessed value of 60% of the manufacturer's base retail price reduced by 16.25% for each year since the vehicle was first registered in Arizona (15% before 8/1/98). Then, as of the Dec 1, 2000 reduction, the rate is calculated as $2.80 (new vehicles)/$2.89 (used vehicles) for each $100 of the assessed value. For example, for a new vehicle that costs $25,000, the first year assessed value would be $15,000 and the VLT would be $420.00. The second year the assessed value would be $12,562.50 and the VLT would be $363.06.
I thik INSURANCE will be the problem

im planing on making my atv street legal? Arizona? We Answered:
It is the factory "For Off Road Use Only" designation that will keep this ATV off of the street.Open your eyes.
Look on the highway
Look on the Interstate Highway
There is a reason you don't see these on your streets and highways. It is because these are designated from the factory as "Off Road Use Only". It doesn't matter what the title says. What part of "Off Road Use Only" do you not understand?
What do you think makes your Off Road ATV so special that you can make it street legal?
Does it have the required EPA emissions control systems? Did you know that motorcycles manufactured after 2002 for street use are required to meet EPA emissions standards? Off road use only vehicles are exempt at this time because they are for "Off Road Use Only". This ATV was made in 2006 so there is a good chance that you would need to have the emissions level inspected and pass the EPA requirements for motorcycles made after 2002.
Does it have DOT legal tires?
Does it have DOT legal brake lights, tail lights or turn signals?
Does it have a DOT legal horn?
Does it have a DOT legal headlight?
Is the braking system DOT legal?
Also, how long do you think that this ATV would last at sustained highway speeds. Yes, many will do 70 MPH plus for short bursts. But how do you think the drive train would hold up at a sustained steady speed of 70 MPH for 30 minutes to an hour without a break? Especially in the Arizona heat. You will need to change the final drive ratio for your engine and transmission to survive. But you will lose your low speed power that you would want for trail use.
Instead of asking this question here on Yahoo Answers I suggest you take a ride to your local DMV office to see what I mean. These are the people you would need to satisfy to get a license plate to ride this on the street. You will find out that this won't happen. I would ask the DMV before spending any money attempting to make this ATV street legal. You wouldn't want to spend a lot of money only to find out that you can't use it on the street.

If my boyfriend has car insurance in his name, and the car is in my name, would/could I get sued if he had an?We Answered:
YES!All though he is the driver, you are the owner. It is the owner's responsibility so you would be added to the law suit if one ever arose.

How much is a temporary operating permit to drive a new car while i get a smog check and registration??We Answered:
In Ohio a temp tag is $11.50. Here we do need to have the title in our possession and it must be notarized into the new owners name.. Not too sure about Arizona though!Guy Said:
Do we file a lien with DMV of California or Arizona for a unpaid title on Motorcycle? We Answered:
there is no point in placing a lien on the bike if it is already destroyed. however, if he is repairing it, yes you can place a lien on the bike. you would have to do it in the state where the bike is.alternatively, take the jerk to court, get your judgment and recover your losses that way (including court and legal fees)
good luck

can I have car insurance from a different state? We Answered:
DMV just wants to see that you have proof of insurance. They don't care where it's from. They also won't care too much if your registration is expired from your previous state, because what's the cure for expired registration, but--registering your vehicle. If you're there to do that with AZ, they're just as happy to take your registration fees, whatever your history with your last state. Just make sure that the title and the insurance are in your name. That being said, the INSURANCE company likes to know where you are and gets a little peevish if you don't change your address to your new AZ address...where you live makes a difference in what they can charge you for insurance, based on weather conditions, wacky drivers, demographics, etc. However, I've held out of state insurance for over a year past moving before without a huge problem. It's one of those things that you SHOULD do, but only some people ACTUALLY do.
