Unemployment Mortgage Insurance

Bradley Said:

Is there such a thing as unemployment mortgage insurance?

We Answered:

YOu can get almost anything insured if you are willing to pay for it. Ask your mortgage lender.

Amber Said:

where can I get unemployment mortgage insurance?

We Answered:

Unemployment mortgage insurance isn't available in the US. It is available if you are in Europe.

In the US that is what unemployment insurance is for. It helps get you through the times between jobs.

You might also see a rider on mortgage protection insurance for involuntary unemployment. If so, it only pays the insurance premium, not your mortgage payment.

Unemployment insurance pay for nursing schooling?

We Answered:

There is the WIA (Workforce Investment Act) program that will help pay for schooling. Have her inquire about this at her unemployment office. Most likely they will not pay for all of nursing school but they will pay for other short-term programs (i.e. Patient Care Technician, CNA, Phlebotomy, EKG, etc.). WIA will pay for one course of study one time only. If your wife already has all of the prerequisites to get into nursing school, maybe WIA will pay. I know they would pay for the LPN program, but only if she's ready to start the program. The WIA program does not cover prerequisites that are needed to gain entry into a program. That kinda sucks, but that's the way it is. I am in the middle of working with WIA so this is up-to-date info. By the way, I am in Chicago, but I assume it will work the same way in your state since it is a Federally funded program. Good luck!

Is there such thing a unemployment mortgage insurance?

We Answered:

Ask your mortgage loan servicer. Most such insurance will pay your monthly payment (not escrow deposits) for 3 to 6 months. None will pay for years.
