Instead of giving $85B to bail-out AIG...what about this idea?

We Answered:

Very creative idea, but I do not think that our Congress, Senate and White House thinks as much about individuals as they think about the just a bundle of "economy."

I was thinking that to boost the economy and give people more security, they could give us a year or two of no personal federal income taxes. This would allow regular Americans feel more secure instead of bailing out the companies that we will have to probably bail out again in another 10-15 years after the next real estate boom, but I do not think this will happen either.

Do you believe that this man's idea would solve the present financial crisis?

We Answered:

> So divide 200 million adults 18+ into $85 billion that equals $425,000.00.

No it doesn't. It equals $425. Someone didn't do his math correctly.

why can't the gov'nt think of something like this to bail us out?

Economic Problems Solved?

We Answered:

This sounds like a lot of fun. But consider this, if everyone is rich than who is going to produce the goods and services? Who in their right mind would work for minimum wage? No one wants to do it now.

But it would be fun for a while....

Heidi Said:

How would this bail out work for you?

We Answered:

Check the math...it would only be $425.00 per person. In order to give 200 million people $425,000.00 you would have to start with $85 trillion.
Good thought though -

Nancy Said:

How about this instead of the bail out?

We Answered:

Yes! I absolutely agree! Unlike some of the selfish mindsets in this country, we, the middle class, work hard to provide for our families and when something happens that renders us unable to work anymore. they want to throw us off the deep end. If that's the case, then they should simply give back every dollar we have paid in taxes over the 20, 30, 40, etc. years that we worked and then we wouldn't need entitlement programs. How about them apples Christopher K?!!
