I am from the US so it may be a bit different, but I thought I would share. A woman in my neighborhood got laid off from her job at 32 weeks. She was able to collect benefits because of this up until the baby was born. After the baby was born she as considered "ineligible" to work due to the mandatory 6-8 weeks most physician's place on those who have just delivered a baby and in order to get the benefits you must be eligible to work and here benefits were cut off. So you may want to check with your mortgage protection company to make sure they do not have a stipulation of this type! Good luck!

I also agree that you will probably have a hard time getting your employer to go along with this plan! Fraud is a serious thing...don't play around with it!
