Mortgage Insurance Unemployed

Anita Said:

How can all those unemployed people afford to buy health insurance?

We Answered:

Under Obamable care, they will have to pay an annual fine if they choose not to budget their money for health insurance vs buying a six pack. They will buy the insurance only when they get sick, then cancel after their sickness. It's like buying auto insurance only when you intend to drive.

Mortgage protection insurance?

We Answered:

Ok I see this mistake all teh time on teh internet so once and for all.

There are two things we are talking about here PMI which is compulsary on over 80% funding loans that will pay the bank a benefit if you default for any reason and your family gets no benifit. All of those postcards/letters/ whatever in the mail talking about mortgage continuation or mortgae protection are totally different.

All those plans are what we call limited or express underwriting so they take a large group of healt situations and tag one rate on the group that may be good for the sick and twice the appropriateprice for the healthy plus they are unisex which removes the advantage for females.

Unless you are really sick get a life insurance policy and if you want more than 100k, run away if a company tells you no medical to qualify as all goof insurance plaans have medicals

Medical cost - insurance - medicaid - unemployed and confused -?

We Answered:

I truly feel for you. No one deserves to go through this. I hope you guys in the States get your whole medicare disaster sorted out. I hope the government enacts universal coverage. Here in Canada, contrary to most neo-cons, we don't have "socialized medicine". Services are provided by private doctors, but billed to the government. So, there is nothing to fear (plus no co-payments, deductibles, pre-existing conditions, etc).

Back to your question, I did some research and came across the Maryland Health Insurance Plan website. I'm not sure if you've looked into it, but it might be something. You get a reduced premium if you have a lower income.

I wish I could be more help, but there just doesn't seem to be many options. All the best.

Help!! Mortgage Insurance, how long?

We Answered:

Suggest you chase them up, you might find one is waiting for the other. Ring the mortgage company up, ask whats the hold up, if the are are waiting for form xyz from job centre ring them up get copy and send if necessary.

You might also want to read the small print of the mortgage protection....it might only last 12 months...

Myrtle Said:

If I'm now unemployed and have PMI insurance on my home, is there assistance for lowering pmts?

We Answered:

PMI protects the lender...not you. As prior poster states, talk to your lender ASAP.

Discuss It!
