Mortgage Insurance Ireland

Kyle Said:

ethics in medicine cystic fibrosis?

We Answered:

If Darren declared his condition, he would most likely be unofficially discriminated against for a job or mortgage or any type of loan. It would be illegal for a potential employer to not hire him based solely on the fact that he has CF. It would also be illegal to reject his loan request for a house, car, or any other type of purchase.

A health insurance agency may reject him, because some agencies will not cover people with pre-existing conditions like CF. While it is immoral, it is not illegal.

As his doctor or physiotherapist, I would advise Darren to not declare his condition. It is not required and would be illegal for an employer to ask during an interview. If he were to get a job and his employer fired him after finding out that he has CF, he could sue for wrongful termination.

How best to budget your money so you can save for a mortgage?

We Answered:

Put aside 125 per month to start. See how that works for you. If it straps you too much drop back to 100. If you can do better increase the amount of savings. Do this every pay period without fail and you will have an adequate down payment to assume a mortgage.

It is possible that he would be unofficially (and depending on the job) officially discriminated against by employers by declaring his condition. On the other hand, he could be terminated after employment by not disclosing his condition on his application.

Health insurance companies could refuse to cover him, as his CF is a 'pre-existing' condition.

Having CF does affect life span. Median age of survival is 27, however, this can go as long as 50 with new treatments, and lung transplantation.
He should disclose his condition to his girlfriend Marie. Most CF men are infertile, not sterile, usually because they lack a vas defrens, not because they don't produce sperm. Assisted reproductive techniques can result in children from his sperm. He can have a normal married life with children, who are appropriately screened for the CF gene.

He needs to be honest in disclosing his condition to potential employers, as hospitalizations will inevitably occur with increasing frequency as the disease progresses. However, he should also stress how well his disease is under control when disclosing this.

Ireland's health system is very advanced, and he would have no worries about his disease management there or in western Europe.

Darren should speak with his lecturer about his fears with respect to disclosing his disease, and tell him why he did not mention it. Perhaps his reference can assist him in framing a response to disclose his disease state.

Do you agree it's time for Democrat Chris Dodd to resign, especially after the AIG bonus fiasco?

We Answered:

Charles Rangle the tax evader did not resign. Maxine Waters and her Freddie/Fannie palm greasing did not resign. Jefferson had 90 thousand dollars in his freezer and he did not resign. Why would Dodd? Did the Dems decide that corruption is bad for the party?

Are the DWP saying you can't insure your mortgage at all- is this another labour mistake?

Go see your local Citizens Advise and ask for Legal Assistance ..

I suggest you stop dealing with the moron "Mrs Foster" = she should know that Mortgage Insurance goes to the Mortgage provider not you, so never speak to her again (if she rings, ask for her supervisor - then always ring the Supervisor back until they assign some-one else to your 'case') .. there are many people 'employed' at Job Centers who get their job due to 'Politically Correct' hiring policies NOT due to having an IQ over 80 or two brain cells to rub together .. thus the typical Government office is filled with 50% Morons .. but there is ALWAYS some-one (usually the 'supervisor') who is able to sort out all the problems being created by the Morons ..

NB - Most people initially get 'entitlement' JSA (due to paying NI for 2 full years prior to claiming) & this is not effected by income or savings only by you being out of work .... since Mortgage Insurance typically runs out in 6 months (at same time as entitlement JSA), by the time you are on "needs based" JSA you have no income, so have to claim Mortgage support benefits as well ... of course, if your Insurance is paying the Mortgage, you will not get Mortgage benefits, but you should still get "needs based" JSA ..
