I agree that he may have OTHER personal issues that he may be dealing with that he is not sharing with you. I also agree that he may not be entirely ready to "walk away" with out you taking the initiative to control your own affairs. I also agree that his face to face behavior is due to his own "putting his own foot in his mouth" and now is not happy about having to stand behind "his word". A man who is a REAL man will always stand behind his WORD even if he is not happy about it. I also think that maybe you two should ask each other if it could be possible for you two to be FWB's. even if FWB only lasts for a few times. It might just be the thing to "push" you two into doing what is needed to be done that you two are BOTH hesitating to do because right now the way that it is, neither one of you can "move on"...or get back together, or even deal with your OWN selves. You BOTH seem to be STUCK and unwilling to make the NEXT move in WHATEVER direction that MAY be. S0. stop being at a standstill, and act. ACT with ANYTHING...one way or another, it does not really matter which way, or WHAT the action is, just as long as there is SOME action...in order to get the ball rolling. The ball will move in whatever way it is supposed to..ONCE it is in motion, so do not worry about that.
