Homeowners Mortgage Insurance

Elizabeth Said:

Is Mortgage Insurance the same as Homeowners??

We Answered:

No mortgage insurance protects your bank if you can't pay your mortgage, if you don't have a certain amount to put down they will require you to get it.
Homeowners insurance protects your home in the event of a fire or something.

What type of lawyer do i need to for this matter regarding my Mortgage/Homeowners insurance Please read?

You should consult a chapter 13 bankruptcy attorney and/or a real estate attorney. It seems like your message got cut off so I'm not what the "mediators" called about. It probably wasn't the smartest thing for you to give a company a temporary power of attorney. Without further details it is hard to tell what you are trying to accomplish or whether you still have the house in your name or whether this company deeded the property to themselves so it's tough to say definitively whether you need a chapter 13 or real estate attorney but it will be one of those two or a consumer law/attorney.

Just an update based on your additional info: I think you should speak with a consumer attorney. Also, you should revoke the power of attorney you granted this company, IN writing. A lawyer can help you with this. You should deal with the company directly (or through a lawyer). It sounds like that "mediator" is trying to get money out of you, if you are making your payments through them and not the mortgage company. Pay the mortgage company directly pursuant to the loan modification agreement and consult an attorney right away.
