Home Insurance Estimator

Jerome Said:

Need your opinion, first-time home buyer?

We Answered:

It may be a good offer, but no one can really say for sure without seeing the comparable home data, etc. It's certainly right in their range, which can't hurt.

For the escrow account, it needs to be started with funds so that there is enough in it to pay the bills when they come due. The 12 months of insurance pays for the next 12 months, you still have to pay in to your escrow account every month in order to make sure that there is the full premium when the next bill comes due. Same for taxes. You will have to start paying in to that account right away with your first payment.

Is the Estimator overcharging me?

The price is ok.

Ricardo Said:

worth going to court?

We Answered:

Honestly if the tow company offers to give you 5$ and a free coffee take it. if a car is in tow legally they can not release it. you need to get there before the car is hooked up. and once a tow truck is towing something at your expense usually they are not liable for damage to your car but they should have some form of insurance just in case. usually its tow at your own risk and if you parked in a non visitor space regardless of your excuse you are responsible for it being towed and there is nothing really legally you can do and honestly for a 400$ cosmetic dent its really just not worth the trouble work it out with the tow company the best you can and save for the rest of the damages.

Home Insurance/Replacement Cost of Manufactured Home?

We Answered:

Yes.

Manufactured homes, also known as mobile homes, or trailer homes, DEPRECIATE in value, to the point where after 25 years, they are worth NOTHING.

Stick build homes, however, do NOT depreciate in value under stable real estate market conditions.

Prefab homes, are considered to be the same as stick built.

You cannot use a replacement cost estimator to calculate the replacement cost of a trailer. You have to use Blue Book, Kelly, or some other vehicle calculator.

Car was totalled out and not sure what to do?

We Answered:

The insurance company as part of their service should arrange for a wrecking yard to take it away. Because they generally sell them for salvage.

Otherwise look on line or in the yellow pages for a car removal service or call a wrecking yard and ask them if they will pick it up.

Insurance Claims (Direct General)

We Answered:

The other person's answer here was perfect. It is too bad you don't have an insurance agent to help you.

Take the car to the shop and have them call the insurance company for a supplemental. It would have been easier to have the repairs done at a shop the insurance company has a contract with, if they do that.

Discuss It!
