if you signed a warning that wasn't true just to satisfy them you made a mistake, if you are fired for cause which usually is documented . i.e. written warnings you cannot collect Unemployment, you have to be layed off, sounds like they do not want to pay their share of unemployment, I wouldn't sign anymore warnings unless they are accurate

be the bigger person, hand him the cheque, and NEVER ask them for anything. I would just keep it to the minimum with them, to keep family relations civil.
