Bad Credit Mortgage Lender

Guy Said:

Does anyone know of a subprime lender who will give a mortgage to a person with bad credit?

We Answered:

Your location WILL make a difference, but I work with a national lender, with offices in several states. Try American Equity (www.americanequity.com) and see if there is a branch close to you. Remember, you are still going to have to qualify with income, LTV, etc., but they specialize in damaged credit and can help rapid rescore you if that's a possibility.

If that doesn't work, email me through here and let me know what state you are in. There are other lenders available if you are in an area we have contacts in.

Does anyone know of an honest mortgage lender that helps people with bad credit?

We Answered:

It depends on why you don't have very good credit. There is a large number of people who have bad credit ratings but are very qualified for loans because they don't have a lot of credit or haven't had credit in a while. If you have held the same job for 2 years and have not missed any payments on your rent/mortgage and utilities, then you may still qualify for a loan. Find a mortgage company that does manual underwriting which basically means that they don't look at your credit rating. One company that does that is Churchill Mortgage (http://www.churchillmortgage.com). However, if you have bad credit because you have mis-managed your money, you will have difficulty finding a loan, especially a good one. If that is the case, you are better off renting until you can figure out how to do better with your finances.

Anyone know of a mortgage lender who will loan to people with bad credit?

We Answered:

Don't lose hope if you're looking to buy a home. There are so many different ways to fund a home now, just about anyone with any kind of credit can get into a home, regardless of credit situation.

Of course, some will cost you more money in the long run, but a home it's still one of the best investments that you can make, so, in many cases, it's worth it, especially for the first year of ownership.

You should shop around, and ask different lenders what kind of programs they have, and if they can help. Try to find a lender that specializes in bad credit mortgages. You can find some bad credit mortgage lenders listed on this page on and off:
