Sounds like you're looking at an accidental life insurance policy form - which doesn't cover how MOST people die.

You're going to need to contact a local agent or broker, and have them shop around for a REAL life insurance policy - that covers death, no matter how you die (except war), after the contestable period is over.

It's going to be more expensive than an accidental death policy.

Whether life insurance would be paid on a murder depends on the terms of the insurance. As to whether there would be money going to victims, that depends on any civil case against him and the terms of the insurance. If he has a named beneficiary to his insurance, the money goes to them, it does NOT go to his estate. For instance, if OJ Simpson has a life insurance policy naming his children as beneficiaries, they will receive the money on his death, not the rRown and Simpson families, despite their valid claim on his assets.

If there is no beneficiary named, then his estate claims the money. If victims have a civil judgment against him, they will have access to the money. In the OJ case I mentioned above, any life insurance WITHOUT a beneficiary will go to satisfy the judgment in favour of the families.

It is not automatic, and would only apply if there were a standing judgment against the criminal. Future victims found would not benefit. Once the money was distributed, presumably before another claim could develop, it is gone.

If you are concerned about injuries then it is disability insurance that you would need and possibly health insurance as well.

Disability insurance protects you when you have lost income due to injuries. There are short term policies and long term policies

Health Insurance pays your bills at the hospital.

And only get insurance if you have dependents that cannot live without your income.

For health insurance ask for a high deductible plan.
Much cheaper.
Sure, you'll pay some out of pocket, but you'll save thousands of dollars a year.
