I agree they should have to pay. My employer pays 70% of my insurance and I pay the rest. This is the standard for most american employers, It should be the standard for them as well so they will know what we have to deal with.
A public health care system will not change this though. They will always have their own medical plans. It will always be better than what everyone else has. You will not run in to your congressman or senator in the waiting room at your docs office.
A public health plan will not change any of this. It will only further the divide between them and us, not bring it closer. I do support cost control measures but socialized medicine is a bit much.
