Guarding customer privacy is something Safeway puts a lot of work into. When you pay with a credit card, we keep our copy in a drawer locked until the end of the night when it can be securely stored. All employees at Safeway are explicitly told not to give out information over the phone, or to any third parties.

On the odd occasion however, Safeway will draw upon your previous purchases over the past years and see what kind of coupons they can send you, to promote certain items you might be interested in.
