Public Liability Insurance Premium

Jeremy Said:

How much should I pay for liability insurance for a non-profit?

We Answered:

If your organization has been teaching classes in a local high school, it is very likely that you already have Commercial General Liability Insurance. If you don't then you should consult a local independent insurance agent who can review your operation and give you advice as to what policies and/or coverage you need and will be able to give you quotes from multiple companies. Unfortunately you have not given us enough information to even give you a range for your quote. A local independent agent will need to know what your organization does, what population you serve, how and if you screen your volunteers, where you are located, what is your annual budget, how many square feet you occupy, etc. to be able to provide you with the quotes.

I hope this information helps. Good Luck!

We Answered:

if the school has asked you to do this, they should provide the place and any insurance
needed. if they hired you on your own, your either self employed or working for the school for a day.
are you being paid for this? the insurance will cost you more for the day than your going to make.
the school insurance should cover any school related functions going on on school property.

Hi,

1: Mr. Fox bought a new car for $2200. After one year it was worth only 75% of that amount. He buys comprehensive insurance for the car after having it for a year. What will it cost for a year at $1.55 per $100?

75% of $2200 = .75 x 2200 = 1650

Then insurance at $1.55 per $100 would be:

$1.55 x 1650/100 = $25.58

2: Mr. Gable insured his new car, which cost $2965, for 75% of its value. The garage burned down and the car was a total loss. How much more will it cost him to replace the car with the same kind?

75% of $2965 = .75 x 2965 = 2,223.75 This is the amount the insurance company will pay. Mr Gable will have to pay the rest, so $2965 - 2223.75 = $741.25
