Premium Insurance Company Canada

My car got bumped into! Insurance Question (Canada)?

We Answered:

If you reported the incident to the police then they cannot raise your rates because of the claim. Also you have to have Collision coverage on your policy in Ontario, Alberta, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Yukon, NWT, Nunavut and Newfoundland in order for the damage to be covered, subject to your deductible. In B.C. coverage is provided by a mandatory coverage called Unidentified Motorist coverage, and I'm not sure about Saskatchewan, Manitoba or Quebec. However you may have a claims free discount on your policy that you might lose. It would be better to contact your broker/agent and ask them for clarification.

Home Insurance Factors?

We Answered:

I suggest that you go through an insurance broker who deals with a number of insurance companies. She would probably work out a good deal for you, and even advise you on how you can reduce your insurance premium.

Your application can be rejected for various reasons. Some of these reasons can be explained away if you had a chance to talk with the insurance company. Regrettably, that choice is often not available on line. Questions like: Do you have an exhaust fan over the stove? Or do you deep fry? Or does anyone smoke in the house? Yes to any of the questions could result in computerised rejection.

Insurance Problem Very High Premium???

We Answered:

Regardless of the car you drive or try to switch on you policy, your driving record (The Accident) will still affect your insurance premium. What I suggest you do is shop around more.. Don't just settle with your broker or insurance company. Use online resources also... I'm sure there's something affordable out there for you.
