Premium Auto Insurance

Leroy Said:

Liberals, How has mandating auto insurance lowered premium prices?

We Answered:

It hasn't that is why the insurance lobby pushed it through. You ever think maybe you are looking for the boogeyman in the wrong places

Marsha Said:

Why auto insurance premium dependent on credit score? I think it is unfair.?

We Answered:

For California, my understanding is, a credit score has nothing to do with the "rating" of premium, that is to say its not a rating computation factor. A credit score only determines "eligibility" into insurance programs or the availability of all the payment options. A not so good credit score may not make you eligible for payments in their top tier company that has their best rates so you are offered payments that you qualify for in a lower tier program but has a bit higher rates. However, if you pay the entire term premium in full for their top tier program, the credit score will/should have no bearing on your premium and you will recieve the exact same total premium as a person with a "good" credit score. The good news is there are plenty of insurance companies that do not take credit score into account in offering you their best rates. If you are in California, go to www.qwiksilverinsurance.com for a free on-line insurance quote. Best of luck to you!

Jacob Said:

where can complain regarding increase of my auto insurance premium?

We Answered:

Your insurance company. The way to complain effectively is to leave them and go to a cheaper insurance company.

Juan Said:

How likely is it that my auto insurance premium will increase if I file a claim? I currently have Farm Bureau.

We Answered:

Just because you file a claim, does not mean that your rates will automatically go up. If you are not at-fault for the accident it is unlikely. If you are not at-fault, your insurance company will recover the damage they pay out from the responsible party. Some insurance companies offer "accident forgiveness" plans. Perhaps yours does.

If you have had several accidents over a short period of time, and you were not at-fault, your premuim may go up. Use your insurance, that is why you have it, isn't it?

I have used my insurance on occasion, and my rates have never gone up.

Premium increases could be related to increases approved by your state.
