What US life Insurance companies are best for males over 50?

We Answered:

There are many good life insurance companies for you to choose from for your husband's term life insurance.

Remember, term life insurance provides protection for a specific number of years, usually, 10, 15, 20 or 30 years. When the term expires, there is no life insurance left. Also, term life insurance builds no cash value within the policy. You pay only for the insurance protection.

The amount your husband will pay per year will depend on several factors, including: his age, health condition, height, weight, smoking status, cholesterol level, if he is on any medication, his family's health history, number of years he needs protection, amount of coverage, any hazardous hobbies or occupation, his driving record, etc.

Several leading term life insurance providers include: Prudential, New York Life, Nationwide, Allstate, Liberty Mutual, Metlife, State Farm, Northwestern Mutual, Liberty National, Mutual of Omaha, and American Family.

Each of these life insurance companies is highly rated by A.M. Best for financial strength, and they offer competitive term life insurance rates.

You can request instant quotes online and compare rates from all of these carriers at once by going to https://www.efinancial.com/smartquoteefc…

I hope that helps! Take care and best of luck to you and your husband.

Well, i have been with the AA for 10 years and mine keeps going down anyway, but you could try SAGA if you don't want to go through a broker.

Good Luck.

Is it possible for someone who is over 50 and disabled to find life insurance?

We Answered:

You didn't mention what type of disability you have, but yes, you can purchase life insurance. The type and the premium will be based on your health, and the state you live in.

Even if you are totally "uninsurable", you can still purchase a "Graded Benefit" policy, if you have not been diagnosed as "terminal", or are currently in a hospital or nursing facility.

A Graded Benefit policy has a two-year waiting period before it will pay the ultimate face amount. Considering the disability, the premiums aren't that bad.

Here's an example of one company's rate:

$42.40 annually per $1000 of insurance up to $15,000, plus a $30 annual policy fee.

15 X 42.40 = $636 + $30 = $666.00 per year.
$666.00 X .086 = $57.28 per month.

Call your LOCAL agent to see if you would qualify for a life policy with a rated premium. If he/she prequalifies you, have him/her do a Financial Need Analysis (FNA) to determine your total life insurance need.

Good over 50 insurance plans?

We Answered:

If you're going to take note of one answer suggesting you seek independent professional financial advice, I wish you the best of luck. The cost of that advice will probably cost you as much as your funeral. And you say that you haven't much money, something that answer appears to have completely ignored.
Agree that a Co-op funeral is worth a look. However think from memory that you have to pay over 60 months. Another plan to consider would be a 'whole of life' life assurance plan, where you insure yourself for an amount to cover your funeral costs and pay a set monthly premium for the rest of your life. This allows you to spread the cost but is an ongoing financial commitment and you have to second guess how much a funeral might cost when you die. So effectively you have to over insure just in case. Here's a link to a comparison site: http://www.bestvaluecover.uk.com
Good luck, I hope you find something to give you peace of mind at a cost that suits.
