I don't think its a scam at all. Its true individual insurance. Did you check and see if you are in the system? If so, it takes 2-3 weeks this time of year to get insurance cards. And the payment always gets processed first. And that's true with Aetna, BCBS, Humana and all the rest of them.

sometimes they get confused at renewal time it's an easy fix.

1 Call your mortgage company ask them if they are paying the insurance or not. usually you can look online and it shows under the escrow account how much they are withdrawing for taxes and insurance.

also it's better if you'r mortgage company let you pay the insurance on your own this way you would save 10% in escrow and save the interest accrued.

2 after you talk to your mortgage company (it's an easy explanation over the phone it should take them a mn) call the agent and let them know if it's either you want them to bill the mortgage company or bill you directly.

First of all, if you didn't have full coverage on the vehicle that you financed, the finance company would have told you so! They have to receive information from the insurance company when your policy renews telling them you have the insurance on what is technically their property. Otherwise, you would have gotten a letter from the finance company telling you that if you did not get proper coverage they will put it on for you at a ridiculous rate. Sounds like someone's trying to pull a fast one! Get another quote and change!

No is the simple answer. Could you imagine the precedent that would set. How about if a single man said the health insurance covers pregnancy and I can't get that benefit or families get a break because they don't pay as much premium for kids so I should get a refund. Some companies offer tuition refund but how about if I don't want to go to college or already have a degree. The employer would be having to spend too much time dealing with these things and morale would be low.

Your situation is very common. I know it doesn't sound fair but be at least thankful that you have health insurance since almost 50 million don't have it and many want it.
