The younger you are, the more you're going to pay. In your case, it might not be affordable, due to your license suspensions. If you get liability only, rather than buying insurance to cover the motorcycle itself in an accident, it might save a little.

It depends on the company that you choose as far as what discounts you can get. You are on the right track though as far as the riding course, most companies will give a discount for this. You may also get discounts for things such as good driving discounts, good student discounts (if you are a student). You can also get discounts for multi-line coverages, by bundling your coverage with policies such as homeowners, life, renters. Again it all depends on the company.

A few companies I know have good rates for motorcycles would be Foremost and Progressive.

they sent you a renewal (they have to by law) and you may not have gotten it due to the mail delivery. it did NOT just renew. the company is not going to renew your policy unless you paid the renewal premium. it sounds more like what you got was your renewal offer...if its more than you want to pay you can cancel it and change companies. if you have not paid anything on the renewal, if you don't pay it they will cancel it the renewal date anyway.

i pay $611 per year for liability on my gsxr 750 through progressive. 20, honolulu, 1 seat belt ticket, 1 red light ticket (currently being contested), and 1 fender bender.

Have you taken a MSF course? that is a pretty big discount right there. If one of your parents has a motorcycle endorsement you might be able to save money by putting it in their name.
