The US pays between 50%-100% more than any other industrial country for health costs. Because of that, US employers that provide health insurance either must pay workers less or are at a competitive disadvantage with companies in other countries.

Even Switzerland which has a system similar to the US but provides universal health insurance, pays about 11% of GDP for health care as compared to the US which pays 17% of GDP.

The US system is broken and at the current rate of increase costs, employers will keep raising the cost to employees or completely eliminate health care as a benefit. The US health care system must be overhauled.

Doing nothing as the Republicans propose will not solve the problem but instead allows the costs to keep increasing.

It's amazing to me how politicians ask the youth for self-control over their sexual desires when they cannot exercise self-control over their desires to waste money.

Although I agree with religious conservatives who want to challenge the youth to delay sexual activity for a while, I totally disagree with their message that a condom is a provision for sin. I send my Christian friends to the website below which debunks the whole thing against premarital sex in the Bible. That way they have no excuse not to support comprehensive sex education.

Those 3 employees need to get it together and put things in perspective. They should be thankful they still have their jobs and good insurance! They are in a better situation that millions of Americans.

***Regarding B, C, D, I'm not sure at which point they want you to point out the potential for adverse selection, so I'm kind of going to give you then at once:

You cannot charge $162 to all your customers (average of 300 and 24 from A) because then the smokers will tend to buy the insurance and the non-smokers will tend not to buy the insurance. If you do charge $162, and if only the smokers buy the insurance, then you're looking to lose ($300 - $162)*50 =$6900. Therefore, you must charge all everybody $300 and will make a profit every time a non-smoker buys your insurance
