Whoops....how bad was the accident, and were the police called? By hit, do you mean you rolled into someone in a crosswalk, or nailed them going 30? it's really going to depend of a couple of issues...how badly was the person hurt, were the cops called, does it need to be reported...etc.

It could. You need to determine whether the amount of damage that exceeds your deductible will be more than the increase in premiums. If you have ana gent you can ask them and they will tell you without holding it against you. Also, if you are with one of the big carriers, i.e., Allstate, State Farm, Farmers, etc. they generally have "Accident Forgiveness" and will not increase your premiums if you haven't had another claim with them in the last 3 years.
