Insurance Company Ratings

Betty Said:

Insurance companies credit ratings list?

We Answered:

Sort of.

If you go to www.ambest.com, they rate the financial strength and size of insurance companies. Obviously, not all companies do business in all states, so you kind of have to back into it - pick a few insurance companies you are considering, then go to AM Best and pop their names in, to see how STRONG they are, and how BIG they are.

Looking at ratings is only one part of the puzzle of finding a good insurance company. You must also look at claims response, customer retention, reviews, etc. I would recommend speaking to a competent insurance agent before securing a insurance policy. To comparison shop for various insurance types and options click on http://www.insureme.com/?Refby=614546. It’s a web site that will give you the information required to make a decision on which policy is right for you. It also gives you the option to call local agents to get any of your questions answered.

I hope that helps!

Are there Insurance Company Quality Ratings for service to their customers?

The NCQA develops reliable measures of health care quality that help consumers make better choices. Not only do they rate carriers, they also rate providers.

Bernard Said:

what about ratings about global life insurance company?

We Answered:

Because you didn't capitalize "global" I have to assume you mean worldwide, NOT the proper name.

So your question doesn't make sense, but you can check company ratings at www.ambest.com.

Jeanette Said:

how do automobile insurance companies get their ratings?

We Answered:

There are several companies that rate the insurance companies. We go with A. M. Best's ratings. The look various items that say how well the company is doing and how likely they are going to have the money to pay claims. A lower rated company does not have as much money, so in the event of a lot of losses they may not have the money to pay all the claims. Example of a major loss is Katrina. Some insurance companies went out of business due to all the money they had to pay.
