I am a health insurance agent in Utah. Here, it depends on the company. About half of them rate for the whole family (no matter what size) unless it is 8+ and then a 10% premium applies. Some companies charge for each child up to 3 and the rest are free. One company, HumanaOne, charges per child with no limit. Try a competitors website - www.ehealthinsurance.com. They are nationwide. Rates are filed in each STATE, not federally, except for Medicare.

The obvious conclusion is, that the Obama administration has no idea how health insurance companies work.

To help prevent terrible deficits, many insurance companies are refusing to sell policies to cover children.
That was an unintended consequence.
Obama's plan to bankrupt the insurance companies and force a Government takeover is well under way. Once that happens, health care becomes a Government expense. With the added inefficiencies of the bureaucracies, rationing of health care will follow just as surely as it has in evey other nation with Socialized Medicine.
