Any company will give you free quote because they want your business, remember, they are trying to sell YOU a product. Anyone that tries to sell you a quote is trying to scam you.

Any time I have gotten rates from Geico and/or Progressive, they have been higher than any of the others that I have checked.

If you buy new:

You get a brand new car with new-car feel and smell
You get the latest style and technology
You get the latest safety equipment
You get a full manufacturer's warranty
You get Lemon Law protection
You get lowest loan interest rates, if you qualify
You get the option to lease
You may get special manufacturer-sponsored pricing and financing

If you buy used:

You avoid the high first-year depreciation of value
You may get same styling and technology, at a lower price
You may buy "certified" vehicles with inspection and warranty - at higher cost
You get lower insurance costs than same new model
You get lower sales tax and personal property tax
You pay higher interest rates

Considering I live in what I like to call a FRAUD FRIENDLY STATE (meaning every claim is fraudulnt and law enforcement doesn't care), Nevada, I pay $1600 every 6 months for an 06 CRV and an 06 Rabbit with Allstate. No tickets/no accidents in 21 years of driving, Accident Forgiveness, GAP insurance. Why do I like them? Because those b*st*rds fight like crazy for their customers in court who are not at fault for an accident, they force fraudulent claims into court and win cases thereby protecting/defending their insured, and their stock makes me a lot of money!
