Is Third Party, Fire & Theft Motor Insurance no longer available? Comprehensive cover gives increasing "no claim" discounts each year. It may be cheaper, if you are a UK citizen, to persuade your parents to put your car in their names and put in your name as additional driver. Now I understand why so many young drivers just buy an old banger and don't bother to insure, but please don't do that. Good luck. God bless. Gladgran

Unless you have a guaranteed write-off valuation on the car (which increases the cost of your premium), they will only pay you the market value of the car. They won't pay you what you think it's worth.

Yes, my brother uses them (2yrs now) and the are no problem, he saved a fortune because his car is an American import to the UK, ecar are owned by Zurich or are a subsidiary..When he had a problem they dealt with it straight away..

The are underwritten by Norwich union and southern rock, They are also members of the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS).

As for emailing back and forward, that didn't happen, they phoned my brother to talk to him, no email apart from notification, you can phone them, but they discourage it to keep costs down,so they charge for it
