Hey I will tell you what my Dr did for me. I was on Seasonique and it was expensive so he just prescribed me the generic regular birth control pills and told me to take the 1st 3 weeks and skip the 4th and go straight to a new pack. Then on my 3rd pack I cud take the last week on that pack and it would do the same exact thing as Seasonique. And its so much cheaper. Been doing that for a couple of years now.

It isn't for you, it is for your neighbor who doesn't have your BCBS and cannot get on anywhere and will bankrupt or die. You will get medicare plus a supplemental, which my mom with heart disease had for years and did just fine, it covered everything; and cost nowhere near the 1200 per month and the high copay of $35.

We had to get moving out of the valley on this one, otherwise people like you and others who are just fine would stop us from helping those who are in desperate situations.

I know you're afraid, but try to gather up your courage and help find a way to take care of everybody. It may cost me more too, you know, but it is worth it to know that more of my fellow citizens will be covered.

most people in america seem to get their "facts" from places like fox news or places affiliated with fox news. if you know anything about fox news, they are VERY biased

the main issue is that most people in america have a very strong feeling of ownership towards their money. "this is MY money. MY money shouldnt have to pay for other peoples health care, because it is MY money"

they dont bother to look and see that dollar for dollar national health care actually would end up costing less

i did a report on all this in high school. it amazed me how much money people spend in this country on health care when there are other countries with systems just as good that people ultimatly spend less on

oh oh oh oh oh! i also need to throw this in here. the one fact i kept finding over and over in just about every source i checked for my report (teacher required ten sources MINIMUM, ugh) was that MOST of the money being put into the american medical system is in fact going towards the maintaince of machines that are not being used. not towards reasearch but towards the maintainence of machines that are not even getting used right now

Even though hospitals are forbidden from turning anyone away from emergency treatment because of an inability to pay, that doesn't mean the person isn't billed, and then turned over to collection if the bill remains unpaid.

Healthy young people usually don't NEED medical insurance, only catastrophic care insurance against such an occurrence. Maybe that's what you guys should be pushing for, rather than mandating that everyone purchases some overblown policy which includes office calls, miniscule co-pays, and treatment for erectile dysfunction.

If you have expensive medicines, you need to seriously consider enrolling in Medicare Part D coverage.

Despite all the complexity, you need to get on a Part D plan.

It is a true shame that lawmakers when passing first the Discount Drug Cards and now the Part D plans could not have simply made it easier for seniors and the disabled to understand.

Unfortunately there is no one central, trusted and unobjective resource for making this easier.

The on-line tools you are using may be your best bet.

Yes, you should - because once you have an employer that offers coverage, you are no longer eligible to be covered under your parents insurance, even if you do NOT want to take the employer's insurance.

Most of the time, people pay a monthly fee for employer health insurance, and most of the time, there are also copayments and deductibles. It's not cheaper for your parents - you're just shifting the cost from you, to them. As they're self employed, most likely it's MORE expensive for them.

Employers get to pick and choose what kinds of plans they offer. Small employers will only offer one plan. Larger employers might offer a bunch of plans, at different cost levels. There's no "average".

Your out of pocket will go up and the service will go down ! AMA poll shows that 45% of doctors have said they will stop taking medicare , retire or find another line of business! Be lucky to find a doctor !
