Augmentation is usually not covered unless it is connected to a disfiguring injury or after a mastectomy.

IF Ryanair cancels your flight they have to make reasonable accommodations such as refunding your money (so you can purchase a ticket on another airline) or getting you on the next flight. Worst case scenario you loose one night. I wouldn't worry about it.

I'm going to be frank: People like you annoy me. Let me explain why. I work in healthcare and I know how much things cost. And $17,500, what I paid for my surgery, is a BARGAIN compared to any other comparable surgery. Any other surgery that keeps you in the hospital for a week would run run double or more. The explanation? We actually get a discount for paying cash! It's true!

Don't want to pay 20K? Fine, go to Thailand and pay half that price. But I'm sure you'll whine about that too. How would you have like to have lived 40 years ago. Back then surgery was not available in North America or Asia. You had to see Dr Bourou in Casablanca and pay the equivalent of 100K. You seem oblivious as to how much better we have it today.

Sure things could be better. But you sound like a spoiled brat. Be glad treatment is available at all. Thank the pioneers for getting all the legal procedures changed. And thank Dr Benjamin for thinking outside the box and helping people medically transition instead of being sent to psych hospitals.

When will the insurance industry change? Not any time soon. Despite the AMA's Resolution 122 calling on them to eliminate exclusions to our care, I think it will be another decade before we see much progress. And guess what? Be careful what you wish for. Call me cynical, but I think once it is covered by insurance they will still find a way to screw us. I think our co-pay for surgery will be about.... 20K.

Stop playing the victim. Do what you need to do to get treatment and move on with your life. Tens of thousands of us already have and you can to.

as a dependent: NO.

for Active duty: only sometimes. priority is given to those who need the surgery for their job. it is space A for everybody else, and the waiting list can be years long. they will NOT cover it if you have it done on your own.
