Which Health Insurance Covers Pregnancy

Myrtle Said:

Is anyone SICK about health insurance costs?

We Answered:

What's seriously wrong is this. There are too many people who are uninsured, on medicaid or sue if one of their family members died of a self-induced terminal illness. Insurance companies are there to make money, period. And we, the self-sufficient, law abiding working class are stuck with the bills and lawsuits. Not only do you and I have to pay exorbitant insurance premiums, but so too do the medical providers to protect themselves against malpractice claims. Yet, proposed legislation to limit the amount of money awarded by a jury in those cases was shot down. Insurance companies fought back by controlling their costs, dictating which doctors to use, not paying for pre-existing conditions, etc. Basically you play by their rules now or you don't play. And yes, you definitely pay to play.

The thing that never made sense to me is that most insurance companies won't pay for birth control at all. Clearly, it is more cost-effective for them to pay for pills than pregnancy and child birth. Also, I think that if they would foot the bill for annual preventative care including mammograms, prostate screening, glucose monitoring, cardiac tests, etc. they'd save themselves millions in the long run. Early detection not only saves lives, but the costly treatments could be avoided. I guess that makes too much sense. Yes, you are right. Something is seriously wrong.

Understanding New Health Insurance Plan with Pregnancy?

We Answered:

You need to read further.

Because the policy specifically says, "except pregnancy..." I assume there is a statement elsewhere that directly relates to a pre-existing pregnancy. Many policies will not cover pregnancies that occur in the first 9 months of coverage, again, you have to read your entire policy to find out.

Or call the number on the back of his card (or in the info given) and just ask them.

Miriam Said:

We Answered:

healthplans.bebto.com - try this one. My wife had no problem with her insurance coverage while being pregnant.

Loretta Said:

Are there any insurance companies that will cover pregnancy in texas?

We Answered:

Not true. Yes it does take long, but since your pregnant it will not take as long. I had a job, no insurance and dad was present. I got medicaid for both pregnancies and if your income is a lil higher then they give you something called CHIP Perinatal.

Child Health Insurance...?

We Answered:

I am not a George W. Bush supporter. I believe the election of 2000 was stolen by the Supreme Court. The Iraq War was approved by Congress based on evidence that was tainted by none other than President George W. Bush. I think he should be impeached and removed from office. That said, I hate to say that he was probably right on this one.

The federal government is operating at a deficit. Balanced budgets are not on the horizon anymore. This is not the time to pass a massive spending bill to cover children that don't need to be covered because they are already covered by their parents' existing policy.

Cover only the children that need to be covered. Keep the others in mind for when the economy is stronger.

Health Insurance and Pregnancy....leaving parents coverage?

We Answered:

You might still be on it during August. Usually the policy will run until the last day of your birth month, although some policies will cut you off on the first of the month or on your birthday. You need to contact the insurance company as soon as possible to make sure.

If it doesn't last until the end of the month, unless you are able to get a group policy through an employer you will not be able to get insurance while pregnant. That's like trying to get homeowners insurance after your house burns down.

My suggestion is to talk with the doctors and hospitals and work out a payment plan. Start saving the money it will cost just in case you don't have insurance for the delivery. Fortunately, most of your prenatal care will be on the current policy.
