What Does Full Coverage Insurance Cover

Edwin Said:

Does full coverage auto insurance usually cover a large tree branch denting your car?

We Answered:

If you have comprehensive coverage, then you will have coverage for this accident. It is subject to whatever deductible you have on the coverage, however. Can I make a suggestion?...

Don't turn in the claim if you think the damage will fall under your deductible. These days, even when you call you insurance company to make a claim and it ends up that they don't pay you because your deductible is bigger than the damage... the $0 claim can affect your premium... especially if you try to move your coverage to a cheaper company. Most people think that since it is not their fault and nothing was paid, that a claim can't affect you in any way. I am telling you it can and I see it every day. Take your car to get an estimate and if it is lower than your deductible, don't even call the insurance company.

Charles Said:

if i have full coverage car insurance through nationwide, what does it cover?

We Answered:

He is covered if he is listed. Full coverage includes Collision and Comprehensive losses. Collision pays regardless of fault. Comprehensive covers losses such as glass breakage, malicious mischief, vandalism, theft of the vehicle, flooding, fallen objects and damage caused by an animal.

Nancy Said:

Will full coverage car insurance cover this?

We Answered:

This will be covered under his collision coverage. He will have to pay the deductable that he has on his policy first and then the insurance will cover the rest. Did he get an accident report on it at all? That could be needed. Every state is a little bit different.

Sergio Said:

what does full coverage cover in my car accident?

We Answered:

The coverage depends on the other person's coverage limits. Usually, "full" coverage means collision coverage, which pays to fix their car if it is their fault. However, you are interested in the medical side...

Most policies cover 10K/25K, 25K/50K, 50K/100K.... up to 500K/1M.
The first number is coverage per person injured / per incident, and the second number is maximum coverage limit for all incidents/persons.

If she only has a 25K/50K policy, they will only pay for the first 25,000 of your medical bills. If you can prove your level of injury and provide copies of the medial bills, most of the time the insurance company will pay them anyway to avoid a law-suit. Keep after them to pay, and feel free to tell them you "don't want to get a lawyer, but will do so if they don't cooperate".

If they won't pay the bills, I would start checking for a lawyer.... A good lawyer will get them to pay for the bills... all of them, and provide a small settlement for your trouble (of which the lawyer will take 25-67% for his time and trouble).

Good luck...
