Vehicle Insurance Cover

Jeff Said:

Does Comprehensive vehicle insurance cover an accident due to hydroplaning (wet roads)?

We Answered:

Your insurance carrier will likely claim that the loss was caused by a collision with a guardrail and not from weather related causes.

Raul Said:

Auto accident not my fault will their insurance cover my vehicle?

We Answered:

You and your temp driver are covered; she had your permission. The other driver's insurance--if he/she had it--should cover your injuries and damage; just hope they had high enough limits. Your insurance rates should not go up, as it was apparently not your fault--or your driver's.

Ramona Said:

Will insurance company cover if the driver is not insured on vehicle but is on the same policy?

We Answered:

Cars are insured, not drivers. Unless you have been excluded from the policy, you should be covered

Nora Said:

does auto insurance cover the vehicle or person?

We Answered:

Your brother is covered if he has your permission and isn't specifically excluded from your policy.
If he lives in the same household as you and does not have his own vehicle or insurance, and isn't listed on another policy (you don't say how old you are, so, parents?), you will want to add him to your policy.

Armando Said:

Will Progressive insurance cover an accident if the driver of the vehicle has a suspended license?

We Answered:

If the driver that had the suspended license then it was his responsibility to info his insurance carrier of this and depending on why it was suspended he would have had to get an SR22 and if not then no, they would not cover this at all because in his insurance eyes this would be considered fraud...

Sounds like its time to take this fool to small claims court..

Jaime Said:

Can anyone reccomend an auto insurance to cover my vehicle while visiting Mexico?

We Answered:

That is the maximum Mexico endorsement I have ever seen & it is very minimal coverage at that. It is not the same coverage as you have when you are in the US anyway so I wouldn't depend very much on it even if you were less than 20 miles from the border. What you can do is purchase Mexican insurance right before you cross the border. This is the best thing to do & is the only place I know of that will provide you the coverage you should have while travelling in Mexico.
