Van Insurance Cover

Francisco Said:

My right side door glass on my van broke today without anything hitting it, would insurance cover it?

We Answered:

Liability insurance is for when YOU damage someone else vehicle, person, or property with your vehicle. It does not cover damage to your own vehicle.

Try a salvage yard and get a used window from another similar vehicle.

Leon Said:

I let a friend use my van & wrecked the whole passenger side, will his insurance cover the repairs?

We Answered:

The insurance follows the vehicle, not the driver.

So your insurance would be the one paying for the repairs (so long as the driver meets the conditions of your policy and is covered)

I googled "montenegro auto insurance" and got several hits that might help, but didn't read through them. Try that and see what you find.

Vernon Said:

Would insurance cover glass broken that just broke on its own?

We Answered:

Fro,

If you purchased comprehensive coverage without a deductible glass is covered in full regardless of the cause (i.e. vandalism, stone, shattering). However to bring the premium down you might have opted for a deductible when you purchased the coverage. If so, you would have to pay the deductible and the insurance company would pay the remaining balance. Look at your policy declaration page or call your agent to find out what coverage you purchased.

Don't worry about making a glass claim. It will not directly affect your rates.

One last tip: Check with the glass replacement company they will often waive your deductible up to a certain limit..

Harold Said:

i pick up & drop off ironing so what cover of insurance do i need?

We Answered:

I assume you have a commercial vehicle policy covering 'own goods or goods in trust'.

If that is the case then, providing you don't charge for the actual delivery, you do not need haulage cover.
