With you 100% i'm a single male in the UK and i still struggle to get by with cost of living and taxation. Am beginning to look at self sufficiency, chuck in the ol' job and farm for myself and a handful of others where they can't tax us and we don't deal in money.

Idealistic I know but would much rather give it a go than not and resent paying these robbing bastards tax all my life (and even beyond the grave!)

i was with pet plan they are a scam.i have a 5 month old german shepherd pup too and i was with pet plan like i said but i got a better offer with sainsburys bank they cover seven and a half thousand pounds vet fees and lots of other advantages like they register you with the missing pets buarue so if your dog went missing they will do everything they can to help you get it back.and sainsburys pay for a reward if it does go missing and they pay for posters to be printed for they missing dog too they are really good and i have life cover and it only costs me 33.99 a month.

You may have to get a modified life policy that will have a 2-3 year waiting period, except for accidental death and it will be a little more expensive but you can get coverage.
