Travel Insurance Which Covers Pregnancy

Tracy Said:

i am 8 months pregnant and will be delivering my baby in america. any insurance which can give me a cover.?

We Answered:

oh dear... I wish I could help you but American healthcare is HORRIBLE! They will not give you insurance if you are already pregnant. And if you are from India, you definately won't get any federal/state aid... So looks like you are going to have to pay. And I know it's aweful! I'm sorry!

Should I go to a friend's wedding or not?

We Answered:

I got married the month before last. Two of our closest friends couldn't make it at the last minute for financial reasons. I was sad they could not attend but I was by no means offended.

If she is a true friend she will understand. Your first priority has to be to take care of you and your family.

The sooner you tell her the better, because it allows her more time to get someone to take your place.

Felix Said:

flying in the very early stages of pregnancy.?

We Answered:

I work for a major airline and flew regularly in the early stages of pregnancy with all three of my children.

Flying will not directly affect a developing pregnancy in these early stages, and you already know about hydration etc.

Good luck - fingers crossed it's your month and if it is, flying will be fine and dandy.

What happens to my cruise when I find out I am pregnant?

We Answered:

Congratulations on your good news.

Now I'm afraid it's time for the bad news.

It looks like all the cruise lines have changed their time limits for pregnant cruisers to the 24th week maximum. See link.

I'm only a stupid male but surely if you are pregnant now, in October you will be 8 months pregnant.
I can only suggest that you get in touch with Virgin very quickly and try and arrange something else or cancel your holiday. I'm not being mean, but if you have to cancel, the quicker you cancel the less money you are likely to lose.
You may be able to cancel just the cruise and use the flights as there is no restriction on pregnant women flying until the 35th week.
Talk to your TA or Virgin, I am sure that they will do all they can to accommodate you. Good luck.
