Short Term Car Insurance Cover

Short-term car insurance in California? Advice needed!?

We Answered:

Unfortunately insurance companies will not sell you a policy unless you own the car. I am not up on California law but try contacting an independant insurance agent that writes for all kinds of companies. Ask them if you can buy a 6 month comp and collision policy on a rented/leased car. That might do it for you.

I am looking for a short term car insurance for overseas visitors to use my car.?

We Answered:

Well for the life of me I can't understand why. After all over 60% of rental car companies business is with foreign nationals. Now if your visitors are already here and they hold a current drivers licence, take them to registration branch and see about an international licence. If they are not yet here, tell them to seek such licence in country of origin.Hope this helps

Insurance for 17 year old tourist to the uk??

We Answered:

You're right, at 17 you can't rent a car, so what will you be driving? If you have a valid license, the permission to use someones car, and their insurance allows someone under age 25 to drive, you're covered under their insurance.

Short term Insurance policy in Us?

We Answered:

As long as there is insurance on the vehicle, and your friend is a legal driver he is covered under the cars policy,unless,..........................… a little older, and my police will not cover anyone under the age of 21,I had this added because it got me lower rates, and I don't let anyone drive my vehicles.
It is also illegal to have insurance coverage on a vehicle that you have no interest in,..............what that means is that your friend cannot get insurance on your car unless his name is on the title. The reason for this is because if this could be done,I could take insurance on my nieghbors Mercedes, then set it on fire and I would get a check. He can't get insurance on your car,and please don't add his/her name to your title! ( BAD IDEA) Hope this helps GOOD LUCK Rob in Pa.
