Scott Said:

Is anyone else astounded at firearms in the USA?

We Answered:

It does appall me, but amaze me? No. I've lived there, and I know just how many inbred morons and fuckwits there are who think a house full of assault rifles is just dandy and sensible. They bleat that gun control doesn't work, whilst scraping 7000+ gun homicide victims and 60-80 police officers off the sidewalk every year. I even saw one imbecile post a question on here asking what the point of gun laws was if criminals will ignore them! Well Jesus, why not scrap all laws then? What a genius.

The best bit is, the same right wing cretins scream blue murder about keeping same sex marriages and cannabis use illegal, but insist they have the right to have as many guns as they see fit. Hmm, let's see... which is most dangerous? A stoner with the munchies? A gay couple with matching wedding rings? Or a lunatic with a .44 and a belly full of hard liquor?

I've never heard of anyone walking into Mcdonalds or a school and opening up on everyone with a spliff.

The IPCC is hiding ANOTHER 'mistake'?

We Answered:

While we're disbanding the IPCC, perhaps we could do away with the entire UN. Den of spys, thieves and people who don't pay parking tickets.

Andy Said:

does this sound like it was written by a ten year old please review?

We Answered:

No, it doesn't sound like a 10 yea old wrote it, but it does need some work, there's a couple of typos, and a few lines need to be changed a little. I assume it is an excerpt from the middle of a much longer story, as there is too much that is unexplained. It is a good start.

Lillian Said:

what would you take in a bushfire?

We Answered:

If I only had 2 minutes, I would take my kids, that's it. Most of the other stuff I wouldn't care about. If I had time, I'd also take my hard drive - it has all my photos stored on it - and my camphor chest, which has all my pre-digital era photos, and one drawer in my craft room, which has my kids memorabilia, such as first tooth, and so on. The rest is replaceable.

Kristen Said:

Do you think it's good to be able to ask a person for ID just because?

We Answered:

Hispanic US Citzens speak English. Would it be safe in your mind to assume that if someone cannot converse in English that he/she might be suspect? Or are you saying that it's not even okay for law enforcement to say "Hi, how are you today sir?"

Conservatives want the illegals to go.
Liberals want the illegals to go.
Republicans want the illegals to go.
Democrats want the illegals to go.
Independents want the illegals to go.
Legal immigrants want the illegals to go.

Who wants them to stay?
The business community. It's far cheaper to hire illegal labor than it is to hire American Citizens. It's far easier to abuse the labor laws when a company hires illegal aliens too. It's also easier to ignore worker safety laws when hiring illegal aliens. The whole thing stinks and our Corporations are behind it. They enlist the help of our elected officials with heavy campaign contributions. Who's your Congressman going to listen to at law-making time? The LaRaza member corporation that has gathered millions of dollars in campain contributions for him/her, or you and me?

The whole dang thing is seriously broken. We need to fine corporations $1,000,000.00 per instance for hiring illegal aliens. We also need a law something along the lines of what Arizona is doing because as illegal aliens won't be able to find work, they'll move to the illegal sub economy. We need the teeth to root them out. I'm not saying Arizona has the perfect law, but at least they're trying!

EDIT
I'm trying to gauge your concern. Are you saying that it's not even okay for law enforcement to stop and say "Hi, how are you today sir?"

EDIT
A passport or other federal ID is not required. The new Arizona law allows for an Arizona drivers license or an Arizona State issued ID card to be used as evidence of legallity. Here in California, I've been required by my state to carry ID my entire adult life and I have been asked to produce it while commiting no crime. (It is useful to know here that I am Caucasian)

I wouldn't count on much help from the US Supreme Court. Racial profiling in law enforcement has long been permitted, if not expressly authorized, by U.S. constitutional law. In the only two major post-civil rights movement decisions, the U.S. Supreme Court has affirmatively sided with law enforcement. (United States v. Brignoni-Ponce, 1974 and Whren v. United States, 1996)

Title 8, United States Code 1373c says:
The Immigration and Naturalization Service shall respond to an inquiry by a Federal, State, or local government agency, seeking to verify or ascertain the citizenship or immigration status of any individual within the jurisdiction of the agency for any purpose authorized by law, by providing the requested verification or status information.

That law has been on the books for years but the federal government isn't enforcing it properly, making it impossible for states, counties and cities to effectively police. There is nothing local governments can do if a glut of illegal aliens becomes too burdensome on their economy except grin and bear it.

I've lived and worked in Guatemala, worked in Playa del Carmen, visited Mazatlan, Mexico City, Guatalajara, Cancun, Puerto Vallarta and several places nearer the US border. I have always been respectful of the laws when traveling to Mexico or Guatemala. Unfortunately, this respect has not been reciprocated by at least 12,000,000 people who began their visit to the United States by breaking our law.

I'm not grinning any longer and I'm tired of bearing it.
