Plumbing Insurance Cover

Geraldine Said:

I had some damage to my house due to faulty plumbing. The plumbers insurance covered the repairs. Can I sue?

We Answered:

You can attempt to sue for just about anything - that's what America's all about. Whether you will win is a different story altogether.

I personally don't see why you missed work even if you were temporarily staying at a hotel.

I don't think you will win the case since the problem has been resolved. You would essentially be trying to sue someone simply because of an inconvenience to you.

Is plumbing a dishwasher by myself covered by insurance in case there would be a water leak in the future?

We Answered:

That may be something specific to your insurance policy - it is not universally true, although as time goes on, insurance companies add more and more disclaimers to their policies.

In any case, if you do the installation, just be sure to tighten the connections enough that they don't leak, but not so tight that you break or weaken the connection hardware.

I'd also recommend that you leave the kick panel off for at least one complete run of the machine, and then look under there carefully when it's done to verify that there are no leaks or water on the floor.

Can insurance cover my damaged sceptic tank?

We Answered:

Homeowners insurance does not cover maintenance problems. With a plumbing failure, the policy usually covers the resulting water damage to building and contents, but excludes the cost of the plumbing repair.

You may want to check to see if there are real estate disclosure laws where you live. Sometimes the previous owner could be responsible for making repairs if there are known, hidden defects.

Homeowners insurance and plumbing repairs?

We Answered:

Yes, they should cover but as others said be sure the repair is more than your deductible else you will get a "mark" on your record but still have to pay out of pocket. Depending on the damage your rate will probably go up too.

We learned the hard way a few years back when we called asking about plumbing coverage. We didn't end up filing a claim because it was less than our deductible but when it came time to renew our policy they increased our rate by 50%. Insurance is a scam... but you have to have it for the mortgage.

If sewer plumbing & heating broke and busted pipes due to frozen lines. Will home owners insurance cover i?

We Answered:

Well, if she's got a stick built homeowners policy on a trailer, then no. And if the trailers were vacant or unoccupied at the time of the freeze, no. And if the pipes are OUTSIDE the trailers, no.

Outside pipes aren't covered.

And why ever did you WAIT so long to file the claim? That could also be a dealkiller.

Odds are, this isn't going to be covered.

Does anyne know if state farm insurance cover water leakage in the bathroom?

We Answered:

They will cover the damage. However, in this case because its a maintenance issue, they may or may not cover it. Typically, they will cover the damage. For example if it were a leaking pipe, the pipe repair would be on you, the homeowner. Any damage that was the result of the leaking pipe would fall on your insurance company, less your homeowners deductable. If you have mold, and and tile shower its going to be well over 1000 probably just for the bath room. Homeowners do not cover mold. You can file a claim, and have a state farm adjuster come out and inspect the damage. But the chances of state farm paying is another story. They might. Worth a call at the very least

Roy Said:

will insurance cover this and what do i do?

We Answered:

Hello, first off you need to call the police and file a police report ASAP, tell then exactally what happened, if you saw it happen get a description of the vehicle and they will be held liabaile.Your insurance wont do alot untill they see a report in hand...do this asap.
Then when you go to your insurance company, you will have to expain the situation all over again, but I am sure they will get someone to come out and take a look at your home, then they will go from there. They may prosucute the driver,to get their money back. But,this wasnt your fault, and I am 99.99percent it will be covered.
Good luck hon
