I recently did my uncles car insurance for him. we checked loads of sites but because he had no no-claims it worked out really expensive. However when we looked at tesco it was relatively cheap, reliable and if you have a tesco club card you can type the number in when you are paying for the insurance and can get 10% off. However if you have say more than 5-10 years no claims than if i were you i would check out sites like axa, e-sure and lv. Of course it is worth the effort if you want your car on the road. And by doing it over the internet most of the time it works out cheaper.

You could go to an independent insurance broker that represents multiple companies and he can give you comparison quotes. I personally would recommend getting coverage from one of the larger companies such as State Farm, Farmers or Allstate.

Let me start with the more information you give an insurance company the more accurate the quote will be for you. If you give them have the info your price will like change. Many companies will sell you a price a not coverage. I would recommend talking with a broker they will quote you with many companies and find out which one is best for you. Good Luck.
